NVSL teams where most swimmers get to swim A meets?

Many teams in the Woodson pyramid B meet group are under 100 swimmers (but not all). Ilda, Long Branch, and Rutherford come to mind as pools where if you want to swim you probably can. Divisions 15-16 or so?

Looking back at last weekend I counted 32 empty lanes for individual events base on the posted results.

We are in D12. Last week our meet had 25 (!!) total empty lanes. This week's meet has only 5, assuming no late scratches.

D2 with over 200 swimmers. Even there for 8&u there are empty lanes. Really depends on the year. After 8&u really need to swim year round to get a shot at some age groups. But in D2 there are teams with really weak age groups. You can look it up on nvsl. If you want to go to A meets then swim at a pool where your kids age group is weak. That seems like a lot of work for summer swim

Ummm. We are d2. There are no empty lanes. There are kids dqing so they don’t show in results but kids swam. Ready for meet 3 tomorrow and have yet to see an actual empty lane.

We have about 40 kids who are always in the a meet. Another 40 or so who float in and out from week to week. Then about 100 who are never in an a meet. But who the 40 floaters are changes a lot from year to year.

We are in a top division, NVSL, largish team (160ish), and I can tell you the club versus non-club numbers for most A-meets per age division on our team:

8U Girls and Boys - this year, no club swimmers; last year, 5 of the 6 8U A-meet girls swam at NCAP or St James

9-10 Girls - 5 of the 7 A-meet swimmers are at NCAP

9-10 Boys - only 2 club swimmers (one at St James, one at NCAP); 5-6 who don’t swim club; highly ranked relays

11-12 Girls - 5 club swimmers (4 at NCAP, 1 at St James); 2 non-club swimmers

11-12 Boys - 3 club swimmers (all NCAP); 4 who don’t swim club

13-14 Girls - 5 club swimmers; 1 non-club swimmer

13-14 Boys - 2 club swimmers; the rest non-club

15-18 Boys - all are current or former club swimmers, but many stopped club years ago; all swim high school

15-18 Boys - only 2 current club swimmers; the rest are former club swimmers; all swim high school

The relevance is that we have a decent number of non-club swimmers swimming A meets even while being a successful top division team.
