Transfer to parochial 7th grade

Lower math is better.

A lot of people angle for advanced math so an "average student" would be a great fit. Keep in mind 7th graders at any school tend to be challenging, behavior-wise.

Are you a member of a parish that has a school?

Remember that you need to have a letter from your pastor if you plan to pay the Catholic rate. You will also need letters from current teachers who may be leaving town for the summer.

Apparently it’s a thing around here where parents will try to only pay for Catholic 7th and/or 8th grade in the hope that it will help them get into a Catholic high school. We got the cold shoulder from several schools until we found one that was very warm and welcoming. Good luck.

It's a thing because FCPS middle school is only 7th and 8th grade.

It actually varies by district. Our local FCPS pyramid is 6-8 for middle. There is overcrowding at all the ES’s that funnel into the MS, so years ago they shifted 6th out of ES and into MS.
