| Good for Trinity. |

Not a bad initial take by the OP. Posted Roster: GOALKEEPERS (2): Casey Murphy (North Carolina Courage; 19), Alyssa Naeher (Chicago Red Stars; 104) DEFENDERS (6): Tierna Davidson (NJ/NY Gotham FC; 58/3), Emily Fox (Arsenal FC, ENG; 49/1), Naomi Girma (San Diego Wave FC; 32/0), Casey Krueger (Washington Spirit; 49/0), Jenna Nighswonger (NJ/NY Gotham FC; 9/2), Emily Sonnett (NJ/NY Gotham FC; 91/2) MIDFIELDERS (5): Korbin Albert (Paris Saint-Germain, FRA; 11/0), Sam Coffey (Portland Thorns FC; 17/1), Lindsey Horan (Olympique Lyon, FRA; 148/35), Rose Lavelle (NJ/NY Gotham FC; 100/24), Catarina Macario (Chelsea FC, ENG; 19/8) FORWARDS (5):Crystal Dunn (NJ/NY Gotham FC; 147/25), Trinity Rodman (Washington Spirit; 38/7), Jaedyn Shaw (San Diego Wave FC; 14/7), Sophia Smith (Portland Thorns FC; 48/19), Mallory Swanson (Chicago Red Stars; 92/34) Alternates: Goalkeeper JaneCampbell, midfielder Hal Hershfelt, midfielder Croix Bethune and forward Lynn Williams. |
| The Spirit are well-represented! Trinity and Casey Krueger are on the roster, and even though they are alternates, Hal Hershfelt and Croix Bethune get to travel to France and train with the team, providing them with great experience. In addition, Kate Wiesner was also named as a training player for training camp in July. |
Her homophobic social media activity? Are you serious? We are so doomed as a society because of people like you. |
Well she’s going. Too bad, haters and cancelers. |

| Roster is out! I am surprised Alex Morgan wasn’t included, but imo right call. No ill will towards her, she’s had a long and celebrated time playing for the national team, but her current performance doesn’t merit being on a roster of 16 field players. It has understandably got a lot of coverage today |
| OP here, I am sorry I just reposted the chosen players, I missed the comment above me doing the same. |
| I feel bad for Alex Morgan. I feel she should be on this team as a senior leader. |
No legacy spots. We’ve already made the Megan Rapinoe mistake. |
Morgan may not be what she once was, but she’s still performing 1000x better than Rapinoe was during the last WC. She’s also a full four years younger than Rapinoe, so this would be akin to Rapinoe being left off the 2019 WC! The difference, of course, is that Morgan had a baby. The Rapinoe inclusion (at 38), was just so mind-bogglingly stupid, and rightfully cost Andonovski his job. Forget Rapinoe’s nasty locker room presence, when she was on the fields last year, we played a woman down. I think this one could have gone either way, and Morgan’s inclusion would have been much more defensible. |
She ain't helping US win the Olympics even if she is healthy. All hype. |
Korbin is the future of the US women's midfield. You obvioulsy know nothing about soccer. |
Morgan is done. Good career but it is time to move on. She is a player who relies on her athleticism and only that. As a player she came to the game late and lacks the technical skill needed to play a different way. She has lost a step and that’s means she will struggle to score in competitive games. Rapinoe’s inclusion in 2019 was a mistake. Slow was slow, out of position most of the time and a turn over machine. Did not matter because the US had the best athletics in every other match up. Basically the US played 10 players when Rapinoe was in the game in 2019 and still won. Can’t do that now. Though only Spain is a threat. |
