| In honesty, Columbia has very low alumni satisfaction, little campus cohesion and protests. Georgetown seems like a no brainer here - happier students and they do have a network. Could always move to NYC after college. |
|
If interested in humanities and economics, have you considered applying either ED 1 or ED 2 to the University of Chicago ? Better chances of being offered admission ED and better econ program than either Columbia or Georgetown.
Northwestern University would be another to consider for double or triple majoring with economics. |
If those are the only two choices, Georgetown. There is no predictability to Columbia anymore. Wouldn't waste an early app there. And GT is good for econ/humanities. |
| GU gives zero advantage to EA. Dont waste it there. They defer everyone that isn’t legacy or faculty. They openly state it’s not advantage to EA. |
| How could you possibly watch the circus that transpired at Columbia just weeks ago & still want anything to do with that sh!+show? |
Can’t compare selectivities of two schools with ED and EA. |
this might be regional bias. I've lived in nyc for 30 years and know more enthusiastic Columbia grads than GU grads by a factor of 50 |
| Two diploma mills, neither worth the effort. |
Conclusion: your kid did not get into either one. |
|
| It's GU, not GT (unless you're talking about Georgia Tech) |
|
I have always, always considered these colleges to be on a par with the Ivy League and I don't think I'm alone in this:
MIT Stanford Georgetown |
| I went to Columbia undergrad and Gtown for grad school. I’d pick GT over Columbia. |
dont count me in on this |
it's not GT! |
