good public school district for HF AuDHD child in DMV?

I thought MCPS has the best support? If they are not good, then what’s the option? Private school don’t take kids with special needsz

IMO, as far as local school districts go, they do have the best support. The issue is the programs are small. In order to provide that level of support they have to be. Getting into one of the programs is often the biggest hurdle. There are many more kids that could benefit from this programs than there are seats. And yes, I know that lack of staff is not a valid reason not to provide FAPE. But that’s the reality.

MCPS has very little for HF kids. They push to be in general ed, but there are large classes and no supports (no para for a class of 27 with about 6-8 kids with IEPs on average).
