I’m pretty familiar with that part of RCP and I’ve never seen a homeless person or a drug addict (??) that far north. In general I’m not afraid of either, unless they give me reason to be. Some random man walking alone would probably make me more nervous. |
| What about trails in Moco or Howard county; they would seem safer than DC adjacent right? |
| I HATE that the answer is no because she should be able to do it. But sadly the answer is no. |
| Noope. I’m a 46 year old woman and got completely lost in eco with my 14 year old daughter. We had left my younger daughter at a birthday party near some picnic tables close to the stables. It took us a long time to find our way out… got seriously turned around and there were no markers. My phone was of little help too. |
| No way. |
Same. I no longer even walk my large dog on some decently traveled trails that I used to frequent, due to the increase of incidents (indecent exposure, harassment) being reported. |
Agree. Sad but true. There are certain things at woman that just aren’t safe to do |
| No. I either think rape, murder or both! |
|
A woman was raped when she and a coworker took a walk on a trail in silver spring at lunch. Even during the day with a buddy, women are not safe.
This was a few months ago in Burnt mills area. |
Was this on the news? That's horrible. |
| Absolutely not. I wouldn't do it so my kid isn't either. |
| Not in RCP. I have a friend who got into a very scary situation there. Luckily, she had her dog with her. But a guy blocked her path and wouldn’t let her pass (it was on a fairly remote, one-way uphill path with the water at the bottom); he didn’t move until she screamed at a passerby to help. |
| Nope. I wouldn't do that alone myself. |
Chandra Levy was completely random. It was also more than twenty years ago and very rare. |
