| I bought a Forester with cash. It’s fine, but I’m not really a car person. My biggest complaints is it’s loud on the highway and the alert sounds are annoying. |
| Nothing wrong or troublesome about the CVT transmission of Subaru Foresters. May have had some issues a decade ago, but not on the more recent models. |

NP. Has anyone had oil consumption issues with their newer Subarus?
My 2011 Forrester was so bad I carried couple of quarts of oil in the car and was constantly checking oil levels. The dealership eventually replaced that engine. Traded that vehicle for an Outback a couple of years later. Outback also burned oil, but not as bad as the Forrester. I had that vehicle for 10 years. Slow oil burn eventually ruined the catalytic converter. I had a vehicle warranty plan and plan covered the repair, but still. Car was comfortable, reliable, excellent in snowy conditions. Loved that Outback. Unfortunately it was totaled in a crash. Currently gearing up to replace the Outback. And yes, we pay cash and keep our vehicles indefinitely. |
