| Prince William Forest Park, or the Patuxent Research Refuge, depending on which direction you want to head in. |

Ma'am, the 'DMV' is where you renew your vehicle registration. One does not hike there.
|
| I love Sky Meadows - beautiful hike. Closer to home, Turkey Run is not very high traffic but really pretty. In DC proper I really do like the Arboretum for a long walk when you don’t want to drive far. Biking in DC also should not be undersold as a way to scratch that outdoors itch - it’s amazing just how many great bikerides there are. |

Sugarloaf mt
Harpers ferry has 2 hikes… Maryland height and I can’t think of the other one Cunningham falls |

I always enjoyed the part of the billy goat trail where you have to single file
it one direction at a time, along a narrow strip abutting the side of the rock wall. I know it’s not rope and harness stuff but it always seems just edgy and dangerous enough to make a pleasant afternoon stroll thrilling. Is that part still open, not that my middle aged unsteady and slightly clumsy self would try it now. |
Harpers Ferry is overrated. Don’t waste your time. |
| If you’re willing to drive up into Shenandoah that’s the best locally. But idk if that counts for OP |

Define DMV. And define hiking.
Are you looking for strenous? Nice scenary? With pets? With kids? |
Are their trees not green enough? Your comment is psychotic |
