As someone who has gotten some of the highest security clearances, you should be fine if you disclose completely and honestly. I know plenty of people with clearances who did a ton of things in their college and young adult years. The clearance process is really about making sure you are not hiding anything that could be used against you as leverage (blackmail) to obtain information harmful to the United States. It's all about trustworthiness, not whether you have never taken a risk or made a bad choice, or simply been a human being in their twenties.
Good luck. You'll be fine. And, I would disclose it even if it falls outside whatever window they provide--it's possible it will come up under any background records check FBI runs, so you look better coming forward with it, rather than them coming back to you to ask about it. |
