Infants, Toddlers, & Preschoolers

Don't feel bad! It's difficult to keep track of everything - especially when they change so quickly!
I started fairly early. My girls disliked any infant tub or insert so since they were about 2 months old, I have been getting in the tub with them (one at a time of course and my husband is there and is the land person). Ever since then, they love baths - they are soooo much happier after a bath. |
| honestly, my daughter is a large 21-month-old and we still use a baby tub inside the big tub. Requires about 1/3 as much water as filling the big tub to the same depth and frankly, she can make enough mess with the water in the little tub. She's never seemed to mind. This is a relatively big infant tub, though, not one of the reclining ones made for newborns. It's big enough for her to sit down and extend her legs fully and have a few inches all around her. The only time I put her in just the big tub is if we're bathing her with her cousins. |
| OP here. Thanks so much everyone. DD is sitting up well and has been for quite some time so I am going to try her in the big tub tomorrow. I have the feeling she is going to love it. |

Clearly I'm in the minority. We never used a tub with either of our kids. I often took a shower with our babies and when we did a bath, I'd just hop in with them, until they were able to sit on their own.
We also never bathed our babies daily. We bathed them 3xs a week, and mainly wiped them down nightly with a washcloth. |
