I’d actually appreciate it if they raised their prices a bit to the pre-2020 levels and reduce the crowding a bit. |
What are people paying now? I have been a member since they opened I probably pay way too much at $45/month |
If you let your membership expire, they will let you rejoin for one year prepaid $250. |
I feel like a sucker. I am on a month to month plan. |
If you go in the morning before work, it is an adequate gym at a great price. But as others have said, it is a nightmare later in the day and you’d be better off at Golds or Onelife, which also are crowded but not as bad. |
Do you think there is a real chance of it shutting down? Considering prepaying for a year but I’d be angry if I did that and suddenly didn’t have a nearbh gym. |
No it won't shut down. After COVID they took longer to reopen because they were renegotiating their lease, or so I heard. I also head it was good for 10 years. |
Agree. It must be a cash cow. I’ve been going there for well over a decade and I think that all of the weight machines I use are the same as when I joined. They mostly work fine, but are definitely showing wear. |
Slightly off topic but I am shocked that people would pay $250/month for a gym. Is the difference really worth 10 times the cost? |
I moved to this gym from Equinox a few years ago and put the extra $200/month in my 401(k). When I retire in 25 years, that will be more than 100k. Of course, Equinox is nicer. But not that much nicer.
I just use the gym for basic weightlifting, and this is more than sufficient. The locker room is not the cleanest, but I live nearby and shower at home. There are a decent number of high school and college students but I’ve never had a problem with it. |
Bump. Also considering making the switch because Vida costs too much and I live closer to 24 Hour. I just do basic weightlifting and use the treadmills. How is the equipment? |
I've been going for more than a decade and a lot of the machines are the same as when I started. Many are showing their age, but they still work. They've definitely let the place deteriorate from its pre-COVID state, but you can get a year for under $250 so it's hard to complain. |
