What time for a first birthday?

9am. Coffee. Breakfast pastries. Cake. Done by 10:30.

We did it with family for that time.

Mine still did 2 naps and that was first nap time ( couldn't do library story hour or many other things until that phase ended)

What time did they get up?

+1 and you can do mimosas too if you want

Nap schedules vary so much but feel so important at that age. Afternoons feel much harder.

If you’re inviting other kids who nap, I’d do 11 and whoever can come, will. When my kids were younger, I had friends whose kids napped across all times of the day— you won’t be able to please everyone. Do what works for your own child’s schedule. 4pm is probably fine too, but I know a lot of toddlers are insane in those early evening hours, even with a nap! And half the time mine would skip their nap on the day we had an afternoon event, and then be a total mess.

Don’t invite daycare kids unless you are good friends with their families. A 1yo doesn’t understand. Stick to your friends and family only.

I do agree with this - daycare friend parties starting at 4 worked best for us, then they really know and love each other! Family friends and family through 3 worked well for us.

But I remember this issue with the two naps it is hard!! I think you are right with 11 or 4, folks are forgetting that their kid had two naps at 1 for most of them. You'd be surprised how quickly you forget I would go with 11 am.
