OP here,
thanks for all the thoughtful posts. I guess I will just let it go. Our work environment has become increasingly adversarial, and I will just make excuses to not lunch/chat with this person. I already feel paranoid in the environment we are in! And ,just to clarify, no embezzlement or law breaking is involved, at least that I am aware of. Nose back to grindstone now. |

NP here. I am kind of surprised that the vast majority of responders suggested that the OP just keep it quiet. OP- if you were that person's boss, how would you handle knowing the information? Would you fire someone over it? What did you mean when you said the person's plan could really frustrate clients? Set them back in terms of time and/or money? Would a client stop using your company if they knew about the person's plan....or would it just annoy them?
Something about the situation is really not sitting well with you, OP. If management came to you later and asked if you knew, how would that go over? Sorry....I know that is all hypothetical....just wondering if that changes how you view the situation at all. |
| I absolutely think you should let your boss know.. try to find a way to do it anonymously if you are worried about some kind of back fire, write an anonymous note for boss' mailbox or something... |
