+1. Sounds like the pursuit policy was violated. |
I didn't think so. It sounded like they pursued with the chopper and PGPD pursued after they crossed into MD. |
If you think "East of Rock Creek Park" is all one neighborhood or in any other way exactly the same in every park even though it represents most of the city, both land wise and population wise, you're just showing your ignorance and racism. |
| 10 bucks says these guys are from PG. There is so much cross-border crime to/from PG county. Folks come into NE or upper NW DC to do their crimes and then head home to a quiet neighborhood in PG. It's crazy. |
You and the rest of the people in this thread need to stop acting like the victims of a problem you created. |
No, there are situations where you can pursue. It’s not like they were pursuing for a simple traffic violation, they were pursuing armed individuals that had just shot someone. |
|
I went down a twitter rabbit hole.
Looks like the policeman maybe wasn't shot, but injured from flying debris (glass - there was a shot through the window). Two people were arrested - and one of them has two prior gun arrests that the stupid attorney's office refused to prosecute. |
I saw the same thing - the cop wasn't shot. Now DC has our very own Acorn Cop! |
This. We have no gun control in DC. You will not be prosecuted. |
So they are DC residents? |
Show me the area West of Rock Creek Park that has these kinds of shootings. I’ll wait. DuPont is just as dangerous as Anacostia |
What part of the policy was violated? |
Thanks. Not seeing much press on this incident. |
You missed PP’s point, which is that “East of Rock Creek Park” isn’t all one neighborhood and it doesn’t make sense to suggest that gun crime is “part and parcel” of living there. (Dupont Circle is also east of Rock Creek Park, geographically speaking.) |
I think PP was trying to make a quip based on EOTR, for the point that the line of increased danger seems to be shifting westward. I think it was hyperbole. Back in the 90, 16th st was considered basically the diving line between the area with a lot of gun violence and the area without. Also, these guys deserve a Darwin Award for carjacking a cop just blocks from the police station. I wonder if he was in uniform or if he’s plain clothes. |
