I don't want to introduce too much science, but the "lightening" started several hundred feet up in the cloud base. Do you think it can't jump a few extra inches from the frame to the ground? |
I would be more worried about a tree being struck and falling in my car than actually being struck by lightning.
It’s all situational. What tall things are around you? If it’s a sidewalk, houses, trees, or utility poles will be hit first. Would I walk casually across an open field? No. Down a sidewalk, surrounded by taller things? Probably if I needed to get somewhere. |
I forgot to answer your question. Do you have a problem? Depends. Lightning and Thunder can be unnerving. Does your anxiety impact your day to day life or prevent you from enjoying your regular activities? If so, you can seek some help. I am afraid of stinging insects (bees, wasps) and heights more than the average person, even when my brain knows perfectly well that my fear is out of proportion with the threat / risk. However it doesn’t negatively impact my life with the minor exception that I can’t go on ski lifts. |
