For kiddos that get in after the school year starts, is it harder for them to transition from an English speaking classroom to another language right away?

No personal experience with this (our kid is about to start in first grade, though, so we have similar concerns!) but I would guess the biggest concerns in kindergarten would be just transitioning to a new classroom and potentially a new school. There's movement off the waitlist in the first week or two, so I don't think those kids are going to be appreciably behind in the target language. Depending on your kid's personality and the exact shuffle involved, though, it could be a big deal to change up your whole routine to accommodate the change
