1 in 4 Gen Z job applicants bring their mom or dad to their job interview in 2024

Anonymous
The Gen Z (and millennial) trashing is getting old. DD is looking for a job and has never remotely considered bringing a parent to her interview. DS who is a sophomore has never even asked me for advice before an internship interview. Their friends would never do this. Nor would any of my nieces/nephews/friends kids. The only possibility I can even think of is children with severe disabilities who may end up needing a supported work environment.

They can they are disabled and because of the 4+ year shutdown they don't know how to interview or talk to people.

THERE WAS NOT A 4+ YEAR SHUTDOWN!!! ARE YOU INSANE?

Here is another report, this time from a news station, but reposted on YouTube:

+1. There's basically zero chance this is true, but it does give people a chance to be upset about Kids Today, so they lap it up.

Different survey; similar results:

Not similar results since they're asking different people a different question. 19% of hiring managers having at least one recent graduate bring a parent in doesn't show that anything like 19% of recent graduates are bringing parents. That's not how the math works.

Dear All,

I am OP. I love how virtually every response expresses complete and utter disbelief this phenomenon exists.

Google it for yourself. This phenomenon is not represented by one single person, one time. It is a trend (but do your due diligence and find out). It exists.

In any event: answer the question:

- will this increase or decrease in the future?

If Mom is hot why not.

Dear OP,

You are a sucker. Likely the extent to which you are a sucker will increase in the future. By your old age, I expect your children will spend every phone conversation with you with the phone on speaker and mute, doing that "blah blah blah" hand gesture at their spouse.

Fail.

You did not address the question.

I drove my 22 DS to a job interview. I took him to see my college buddy who is now SES Fed. My buddy introduced DS to one of the contractors, and DS received a job offer 30 minutes later.

Those are actors and the news station does not exist.

OP you cannot be serious to double-down on your idiotic post.
Are you doing research for a thesis or something? Are you high right now?

So many things that would turn me off a candidate this is one. As is all those thing in the shoe tying thread that got shut down yesterday. I want to hire capable smart independent people. Anything that demonstrates the contrast is a no go for me. Period. I can make a case that another person was more capable or a better fit, easy.
