13 year old will hang at pool, go fishing, do another sport, destroy my kitchen with cooking experiments, and spend too much time on screens.
15 year old will work at pool check in, do online health class, hang with friends, and spend too much time on screens. I may make them both take an online class if they’re being total sloths. Last summer we got a meal subscription box and they were both in charge of making dinner once a week which worked out pretty well. |
I love the meal subscription box idea! Thanks! |
My daughter would babysit a lot. She worked for a couple of families who had a work-from-home parent who just wanted a few hours of fun teen distraction so THEIR kids weren't on screens all the time. Also, since they knew she was a swimmer, some parents would have her take their kids to the pool for a few hours. Worked out great!

mine will do some tennis since it's in the neighborhood (they are not great players but it's fun and exercise, and for the younger one helps fill the day).
older one will lifeguard, take health online, take drivers ed online portion, help with pre-team they will otherwise hang out at the pool with friends, spend too much $ at the snack bar, roam the neighborhood on bikes. i also like the meal subscription idea!!! |
Does your team not have evening practice for kids at camp or working? Mine will be babysitting and working a fairly flexible restaurant job. |
