My kid doesn’t attend the day and usually skips the day before to study. This is common in our exam focused school |
We let my kid skip half a day for one AP because the school allows it and found out he missed a review in a class for an AP Test the following week. So we sent him (and his brother) to school all the other days. This was helpful because they had a new piece to practice in their orchestra class for an upcoming concert.
A teacher did make fun of my older kid for coming to class on a day he could have skipped. It's dysfunctional just like the rest of school. In the future, I won't let them skip any classes that they can make. |
Our FCPS school specifically said kids were expected to attend class before or after an AP exam, while neighboring schools excused their students.
I picked up my kid after her morning exam because she had the same class she just tested in that afternoon, where the teacher announced they’d be watching a movie. |
