New Zealand Animals

I spent 4 weeks hiking and camping in NZ in March, and aside from swimming with Hector's dolphins and tubing in the glow worm cave, I didn't really see any exotic animals. I did see a penguin at a distance, but it was nothing like a small group tour of the little penguins in Australia that I did right after visiting NZ, where I sat on the beach and saw the penguins waddling out of the ocean and then walked back to the visitor center with penguins walking right next to me. Overall, the wildlife in Australia was far more impressive.
