My kid has a tryout tonight, but this league seems almost too good to be true when so many other programs are a compete disaster. What's going to make this program different? I love the idea of friends saying together and not having to drive far out for practices and games.

Kids are trying out b/c who in their busy lives want to drive to Fairfax, Alexandria, Herndon, etc for a B level team? Also, current ATB kids are trying out b/c theu would have tried out for ATB 13u anyhow which is now nonexistent. Will this program be any better? Hope so for them and to save ASBR.

Have people not been happy with ATB? Seems to me that the kids who switched out of Senators fared much better at high school tryouts, at least as freshman.

ATB only has one team at the 13+ level. They are pretty select and families seem to be happy.

Is ASBR being folded completely into Arlington United? I have a kid who doesn’t want to travel but does want to keep playing after 50/70. He didn’t try out for AU

No tryouts are needed for ASBR (they do a screening session before the season for team placement so one team isn't stacked). ASBR has always been associated with the travel program Senators. Now that Senators and ATB merged, its the same as before just associated with Arlington United. The "association" helps keep ASBR afloat.

Will united end at 15 U or will they continue going once those kids get older?

It sounds like that plan is to keep adding an age group each year, with the rising team. Next year adding 16u, etc.

Did they announce teams?

NP here. Is anyone willing to share the costs and what they include?

I'm also curious to see time commitment/how far tournaments are

I have a 14u. So far, it’s been amazing. We’ve been very, very happy. Everyone loves our coaches. They are trying to get them ready for high school ball, so their standards are very high compared to where we came from. They played 3 or 4 tournaments so far, but local ish. Only 1 requiring a hotel. Single games or DH on Sundays, single game Wednesday nights. Practice 2x a week.
The 13u team is their rockstar team, and they play more tournaments. I can’t imagine they would be doing tryouts for that team. I am not sure what teams they are doing tryouts for, but maybe the 13u C level team and the 14/15u combined team which is B level.
So far the practices have been in arlington as promised. They play in nvtbl so a lot of games are in Fairfax county (patriot park, centerville, Chantilly, Lorton with some in south Arlignton).
