It's not ruining anything. I don't mind honking one bit. I just sit an extra few seconds when they honk. |

+1 I don’t get on my phone at red lights, but I also DGAF if you honk at me after 1 second. I’m going to make sure the intersection is clear (or be certain that no pedestrians are crossing before I make a turn). I value my and my family’s life more than whether the person 4 cars back has to wait through another light cycle. Also how can OP even see that the person 3 cars ahead of her is on their cell phone? Impatient drivers are just as much of a hazard as people looking at their phone. Leave your house earlier so you don’t have to be rushed and angry at intersections. |
Honest question. What on earth are you doing while waiting at a red light then? You should be watching the road/intersection and still looking around while stopped on red. So when the light turns green, you should ALREADY KNOW if it's safe to proceed. You do not need to wait unless there is already an active situation. You should NOT be spacing out, applying makeup, on your phone. |
I would be in the angry mob dragging those people out of their chambers and hanging them from lampposts for inflicting such tyranny on the public. |
I work in DC. When I’m at a red light, I’m constantly looking around for teenagers trying to carjack me. Not all teenagers, of course. Just those teenagers. You know the ones I’m talking about. |
Are you talking to yourself in this post? Who here is going to listen to you? Who cares what you have to say? |
Triggered!!!!! Put your phone away, Susan. |
Does it though? When this kind of distraction causes a chain reaction that results in a crash or a pedestrian getting hit? |
+1 |
I'd like to see this chain reaction crash since NO ONE IS MOVING. Which is the entire point of the rant. Try again. |
Can you please explain to the rest of us how a chain reaction crash happens when all the vehicles are stopped at a light and no one is moving? Because I’m a little hazy on how you get a crash from vehicles that aren’t moving. How’s that work? |
How does this work if you're using the GPS app on your phone? |
DP. What? The GPS is hands free. Stop fiddling with it when you're stopped at a light! |
Why? At a red light I can choose a different route or change a setting. It takes a few seconds. |
