Here's a copy of the receipt from FedEx--just let me know when you are ready to settle up." It's awkward only because they haven't proactively reached out to you to offer the money--which is really ill-mannered of them. If they refuse to pay you or act put off that you are even asking, I'd probably let it go but never go out of my way to help them again.

Yes. I made sure they received the package when I saw it was delivered. They also had the tracking number. This is how I feel. They haven’t even approached us since returning. It just tl feels really strange.

So just send them a copy of the receipt with your Venmo and say something like: "I realized I didn't send this to you before, but here's the receipt for $30 and my Venmo. Thanks!" They will get the hint--and if they don't respond, then you know what kind of people they are.

Stop perseverating about this and just mention it the next time you see them. Unless they feel you owe them money for some forgotten issue, they just forgot and will pay you back quickly.

Why didn't they thank you when they got it. Very strange that you all didn't communicate after sending it out.
You go ask them. I wouldn't and I would never do anything for them again that takes so much energy.

They want to pay you- they just forgot. Just ask.

And WTF does this have to do with the price of tea in China?

Nothing. Whether it’s 30 cents or $300, they owe her money.

Yes, this. Do it today, OP. If they had thanked you or been gracious, you probably wouldn’t care as much. But it’s going to nag at you. Send the text. They are the ones who should be embarrassed.

Hey Jane the passport you asked me to overnight cost $30 to send. Here’s my venmo.

They sound like a$$holes, I'd walk over and say Hey, you owe me $30. If that causes a rift you are well rid of them.

This is the way, OP.

This.

Just wait until you bump into them and ask if they got the package

If they don’t offer on the spot to reimburse, then say “oh I have the receptor you.”

Maybe they caught Covid on the trip or something, and that’s why they haven’t got back to you.

Hi neighbor, I'm sure this just slipped your mind, but it was $30 to ship the thing. Here's my Venmo or you can just slip the cash in the mail slot. Thanks!

Just text them a picture of the receipt

OP, most important ~ next time do not do any favor, where if you don't get paid back, you're going to be resentful. You have every right to be bothered by this. You also have every right not to help. Know yourself.

I would only do something like this if I was going to have zero resentment.
