If you are indifferent, then you don't believe in a god or gods, which makes you an atheist. By your own posted definition.

No, this is not what agnostic means. Gnostic means, "to know" - pertaining to knowledge, not belief. A-gnostic means you just don't know. Nearly all atheists are agnostic wrt to a generic god definition.

As a long-time agnostic, it's really more like, "I don't know," not "who cares?" I'm not indifferent to the subject; I just don't think there is a knowable answer to the question of God's existence.

But those who don't know and don't care are also agnostic. You can be agnostic and be interested or indifferent.

Yeah? Name a few who aren't. I can tell you that all the famous ones you can name are. Like Bart Ehrman https://ehrmanblog.org/on-being-an-agnostic-or-atheist/ I can tell you that most of the hosts of shows like The Atheist Experience and others are. And here is why:

Claiming to not be agnostic about the existence of any god puts the burden of proof on the person making the claim. Most atheists will tell you they don't make the claim there is no god, they simply do not believe in one. It's critical to the logic of skepticism, and without it you are in the same pickle as the theists.

Now, I know many theists would like it to be different to shift that burden of proof. Could that be why you "disagree"? I am guessing if you had any proof for your claim you would have had a post longer than one word.

Please note that I do understand language is fluid and people can use words with different meanings.
