Hmm, I'm Jewish and I'd sooner send my kid to Northwestern. [shrug]

I’m Jewish and NU alum.
You should see our what’s app chat….
No one is happy with the school or this president.

McDonough has fabulous outcomes/ ROI.

Both schools are reaches and while' OP's kid has great stats, so too do about 300,000 other applicants all vying for the same schools.

Yes. We were attracted to GU because I hate the Greek system. Gu requires first 3 years on campus living and so much of the social life is around clubs/intramural sports and dorms.

McDonough is great, but Northwestern is very strong too.

Northwestern is a powerhouse for consulting (https://poetsandquants.com/2022/02/22/insider-insights-top-target-schools-for-mbb-consulting-firms/), but has been building its strength in finance as well (https://www.northwesternibc.com/placement.html)

In addition to the Business Institutions courses, can pursue undergraduate certifications through Kellogg as well: (https://www.kellogg.northwestern.edu/programs/certificate.aspx)

Economics is a top 8 program: https://www.usnews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-humanities-schools/economics-rankings

They had one student enter the MIT PHD program in economics this past class

To answer the actual question posed, ED1 to Northwestern and RD to Georgetown to maximize chances of getting into one (still unlikely). If you EA to Georgetown and RD to Northwestern, more likely to not get into either….

Whether there is a slight preference for one is irrelevant because kid likes them both a lot — and maximizing admission chances way overrides any gradation of difference in preference here.

Pope Francis came out for an immediate cease fire many months ago…

Northwestern is much higher ranked.

Georgetown has an underground Greek system? Can someone give more details?

Social life is tricky at Georgetown. Seems a bit like high school 2.0 with lots of social stratification. Some kids are into that, but some are not.

If GU was on the common app and did ED, it's admission rate would be in the mid single digits like the other top schools. They don't play those games so the applicant pool is thus more self-selecting.
