house for sale without a for sale sign

Consider yourself very lucky. Some have to sue their neighbors for harassment or worse just to get them to back off and mind their own business. I've heard of some making their neighbors responsible for back taxes, which can be tens of thousands of dollars. It can get very ugly. Again, consider yourself lucky.

We have bought and sold many properties and know first hand that the value of an open house depends on the actual market.

We have also cut ties with more than one realtor who held the open house after having an offer.

Buyer (and seller) beware.

19:20. It's true, I've had all friendly-- or at least neutral-- relations with neighbors. Your experience seems quite extreme, and I'm not sure I understand your comment about back taxes. Curious, what do you think accounts for such a run of bad luck? Demography, geography, what? Were all your homes in the same or similar neighborhood? I really am curious what you think. Perhaps you've gleaned some good ways to size up neighbors before buying a house? It really is the big unknown when you purchase a home unless you already know people in the neighborhood.
