When do you give up on a book?

| I'll typically give a book at least a few chapters and more likely 1/4 to 1/2 of the book but if I find that I really don't care what happens in the story or to the characters that's when I bail. I don't care how great anybody else thought it was either. |

I enjoyed Hamnet and its ending but I never struggled with the book. I never DNF. |
