If others were in physical danger, I would be willing to consider that something needed to be done. But for name calling, though, or disrespectful behavior, its hard to see how this could happen without repercussion to the counselor. |
NON BLACK KID Says the N WORD--- even if its Hispanic student.. |
| They need to fire whoever is in charge of hiring these terrible counselors. |
I am not excusing his behavior, but can you have any pity for this man? What the child did is disgusting and probably pushed him over the edge. |
| I wonder what the kid said to the counselor, and what name he called him. And wait to reserve judgement on what kind of history the kid/parents have. |
+1 |
Not to mention every day the behaviors and disrespect at schools gets worse. I don't make excuses either but honestly this is why people don't want to sub or teach. It feels like a zoo with no rules or boundaries-it's not good. |
N-word. |

Did the counselor "head butt" the student?
Or did they accidentally "butt heads"? Those are 2 very different situations. One would hope that there are security cameras in the cafeteria to sort things out. |

Terrible place to work. Witnessed multiple hallway fights, open acts of vandalism, outright hostility towards adults, was in an unsafe situation…and that was just one random Thursday as a substitute.
I quit immediately and am currently unemployed - zero regrets. |
Team counselor. I bet the parents of this brat also think their precious baby boy was traumatized by this incident. |
Sounds like you want any Black adult to be able to physically assault any non-Black kid using a slur but that’s still not OK. |
I'm half white and half Asian. Whatever ethnicity this brat was, doesn't matter. His parents are raising him to be an entitled, abusive, shitstain on society. I support counselors not having to put up with abuse from people - including kids. |
So you favor allowing adults in schools to be able to physically assault kids - yes or no? |

So Glasgow is a zoo. I am actually surprised the altercation was not worse.
The kid called the counselor the N word. The school has had SEVERAL teachers leave mid-year because students have taken the physically assaulting and threatening the teachers there. When the teachers go to the administration NOTHING is done. Every day the staff and teachers feel unsafe and threatened. This is not even touching on the student safety (of the non-violent kids). It was a matter of time living in that environment every day before a teacher or admin cracks. It is not right and I don't condone it. But Glasgow is basically under prison rules and that kind of day to day environment. |
