I make six figures in my day job, but still have a couple of side jobs that pay $0-200/month. They're basically hobbies at this point, since I enjoy the work, and the money isn't a big deal to me now (it was at one time, many years ago).

PP here. I should add that I don't actively seek out the work. It comes to me, and, by luck, the voume of work is just about ideal.

Most teachers and librarians I know have side jobs in order to pay their bills. One former colleague took a side job to pay his dental bills and then kept it in order to save money.

And now I notice more newer feds also have side jobs, one of my younger staff bartends on the weekends to pay back his loans.

I was guy all the jobs. I had two full time jobs each paying around 200k each for 10 months.

I actually never got caught. I was deep in interviews on third job near final round when my second job laid me off with 8 weeks severance. My started that job while getting severance for my second job and was briefly getting 6 paychecks a month.

Those were all full time. I knew tons of people in 2020-2023 with several full time jobs when we were fully remote. Some of my staff had multiple jobs. I don’t care as long as work done.

It is not as hard as you think. I stopped only as my current job is in person and briefly was doing a remote job and in person job same time. With my ATT hot spot and a second laptop not as hard as you think.

Job market not as good and remote drying up. Those days are ending

80 percent remote workers do second jobs during work hours.

I believe it. Not multiple full time jobs but a regular white collar job and an artistic/hobby/petsitting type job for evenings and weekends that’s really for fun but the extra income is also nice? Absolutely, I know tons of people in that situation.

I’d love to do this. If you don’t mind, how much does a dog sitter charge?

She only makes about $400 a month. Close to what I was giving them. So now they won't give me the time of day.

Do I believe the 50% statistic ? Yes I do. I know many people doing extra work just for food and gas. The other essentials are being covered by parents. At least it is in these cases.

It's hard to be financially sound right now unless you have a little extra help. I never say no to food or gas.

She would be better off working in a restaurant.Good exercise, they feed you and she can make that amount in two shifts.

I waited tables on the side for years. Sometimes made my “real” job salary in two shifts a week.
