My ES line in Bethesda is a shotshow |
I understand that littler kids always take longer to load or unload. That just comes with the territory. I also understand the delay if an kid has a cast or crutches or such like.
I do not understand the drivers in the drop off line who get out of the car, do some long hug and kiss ritual with their DC every morning, then slowly stroll back to their car 3 minutes later. There are staff curbside to open the doors and help kids in and out, so no driver ever needs to get out. And there is plenty of parking simply to park the car and then walk DC to the school door if one wants to do some time consuming ritual. |
+ 1 and can start in 5th. No way I am bothering with chaotic drop off lines. |
This. My kids ride the bus but I am shocked how many parents in our neighborhood drive. I’ve had to do it on rare occasions and from my driveway back to my driveway it takes a full hour. The school is only 10-12 minutes away, the rest is inching through the line, which doesn’t end when your kid gets out or in, you then have to keep inching out of the parking lot too. One parent told me she does it because there is “bad language” on the bus and also because her kid needs daily Sbux. |
Let you kid walk or take the bus. Problem solved. |
