I was going to ask this, as someone who's husband IS built like a former linebacker - many lines he cannot wear, and slim/European fit pants are out of the question because he literally cannot get them over his calves. PP's will recommend one thing, I'll suggest another - neither may work for your DH.

DP - I really like Peter Millar, but my husband doesn’t golf. Would it be weird for him to wear that brand?

Not weird. No one is going to be interrogating him about his game. Husband has lots of Peter Millar and golfs, but it’s a mainstream brand and he wears it off the course.

My husband doesn't really golf but still wears it. The polos in particular are really comfortable--will be great if it's warm where you are traveling and you're doing a lot of walking around during the day.

Depneds on body type. It's good if he's...wider. It's not a slim cut. What about lululemon?

I'm an unfashionable middle-aged guy, and when I want something nicer but still classic (that is, boring), I go to Banana Republic or Bonobos.

If you go to a Bonobos store, they will fit you. Once you know your sizes, you can mail order from a much broader selection, or buy used off Ebay/Poshmark/etc.

Uniqlo works well for my skinny husband.

What about higher end, well fitted joggers and t shirts for a start?

+1 to J Crew, Banana Republic, Marine Layer, and REI. These are also the main places I shop these days.

Also wanted to mention LLBean and Lands End (has more size options) if he needs some basics

My husband has had good luck at Jos. A. Banks in the past but nowadays sticks to Lands end.

lululemon (they also make really nice slacks), madewell mens (new store on 14th), zara (for trendier pieces), and banana republic.

OP here, thanks all, great recommendations! He has a slender build, so a lot of these suggestions are good
