| This is a great way to get back into the workforce. No pressure to commute. If you decide in a year or two that you want to be in an office, then you can explore that. |
And it might be harder to find a remote job after working in an office in a few years, so I'd take the remote job first. |

If your DH makes 4-5x your income, even not knowing the exact numbers, 15% difference in your jobs options is the opposite of considerable difference in pay.
This has got to be the new math. Adding commute, possibly more clothes, lunch would be overkill. |
OP. This is my thought. I think the transition from SAHP to remote will be a lot easier. |

Yes! Think about gas, wear and tear, lunches out. You save all that, plus you can pop laundry in or start on dinner during lunch.
I am hybrid, but I looove my days at home |

Yes, totally yes.
Right now I make around $300K, which includes base ($190K), bonus ($45K), and equity vesting in calendar year ($60K$). If I went back to office elsewhere I could probably get at least $50K more but if I factor in commuting costs, drycleaning, extra childcare, and dog walking I’m probably losing money or breaking even. The only way I’ll go back to the office with young kids is if I get paid like $200K more. Even then I don’t know if the stress would be worth it. And I want to see my kids grow up. |
| Yes. I worked a ridiculously flexible remote job for nearly a year after I had my baby. When I realized it wasn’t going anywhere, I took a mostly in person job for a 20% increase. It costs money to work in person! |
So funny! |
