Houses on I95 between American Legion Bridge and Tysons

Yup. I’ve been crossing that bridge almost daily for 25 years. That door has always been floating up there all alone.

Who lives there? It is bizarre

County rights of way are published. Many years ago, my parents bought in McLean. They checked the maps and didn’t choose the property that backed up to the lovely bit of woods that the county paved over a few years later for a four lane road.

Can someone drop a pin for this house? Now I want to see it

I think this is it:

It likely doesn't have anything to do with the construction. Most likely there was a deck attached to the house and it rotted away. Previous Street View photos also show no deck. You can only really see the door-to-nowhere when its winter time and the foliage has fallen from the trees.

Thanks! What a strange looking house/parcel

That is a great picture of the door to nowhere. Strange plot.

Y’all are way too nosy lol with these google images

These people surely know years in advance that the highway literally next door was in talks of getting expanded.

Now, if I was Maryland and Virginia, I’d buy out all these homeowners on one side of 495 for way over asking price and use that land for a purple line connecting Tysons to Bethesda

I guarantee the first line of a real estate listing for this house has been (or will be): “POTOMAC RIVER FRONTAGE!”
