Yes or No? Bday pool party for 6 yo boy (this fall)

OP, we've been invited to 2 birthday parties at the pool, but in both cases they were family parties -- everyone invited, including siblings. Some people came with the whole family, others just a parent and a child (or a child was sent with another family, if the child was a proficient swimmer.)

I would definitely require a parent to attend each child at your pool party if the kids are only 6. THey probably would not need to get in the water but would have to watch nearby if their child were a non-swimmer. I would not hire a lifeguard for the event -- that is taking too much responsibility on yourself. Parents need to watch their own cihldren.
