And now, some potential dresses (all in Petites):

And I think this skirt could be super versatile:

Did you guys even read the OP? She wants something a-ligned or flared that is not accentuating her stomach that is having issues from weight gain/perimen.

I wore this for a panel recently and was very comfortable.

Agree that for seated panels, you'll most comfortable in midi length, or pants.

A really nice blazer may also hide a tummy.

This is a very cool dress - professional but fun and interesting too.

Thank you! I love it. Very flattering, too. I'm wearing it again this afternoon for a speaking event.

OP here - I appreciate all the suggestions! Especially the concern about dress length and seating.

I carry my belly weight lower, thanks to a nearly full-term twin pregnancy and c-section, which makes many of the belted options that have fuller/flared skirts possibilities. Sheaths or anything more fitted through the hips just won't work anymore. Also makes it more challenging to find pants that are appropriate and flattering. I have a couple of standby blazer ponte pant combos that have worked well for winter due to the wider legs and stretchy waistlines.

A PP's suggestion of a Nic & Zoe dress from Nordstrom reminded me that I have a couple of their pieces and they fit well. I saw this dress:

It's a silhouette that works well for me. My arms are decent. I worry about temperature, though. I sometimes feel frumpy in cardigans. But think a blazer might be too much?

I love the jumpsuit a pp suggested, but always think those are better for tall, thin people. I have size D breasts that can fill the bodice of something like that and make the proportions look off. Also, practically speaking, taking the whole thing off to use the toilette seems like a lot of work!

You've all given me great suggestions to consider.

These do not come in petite, but they work well for me; I normally use my own belt instead of the self belt. I have similar stats--a bit taller. If you are not busty, a size 8 would work well. They should also have at least one of the colors in store, if you prefer to try on first.

I disagree that pants are better in this situation unless you normally find pants more "you" than a dress.

Op, I like that dress! They show the model wearing a matching cardigan and also suggest a blazer pairing.

This is a similar option that has a bit more sleeve coverage. It's their version of the ubquitous Somerset dress: https://www.nicandzoe.com/shop/spring-shadow-daydream-dress-S241909.html

This brand might be good since you’re busty.

This is on point. I'm not OP, but I also have a stomach pouch since having babies. I often wear black dress pants with an untucked silk blouse, but this could be a good alternative. Thank you for posting it.

That's a great dress, but it says it's linen - does it get all wrinkly?

My thought as well and it does not appear to be lined, which would help somewhat.

I have this dress and a similar body type as you OP. With the right accessories it does not look inexpensive/ cheap at all. All the best for your presentation!

I just don’t think these flowy, floral dresses are business appropriate. I hate them in a business setting. Leave them for brunch, graduation, whatever. For me it’s like if a man wears boat shoes in a business setting or croakies or plaid shorts or idk what. It’s just a false note.

Nic and Zoe is very reliable OP but I’d pick something less floral.
