When are q3 grades due?

I don't have any real knowledge but I think occasionally in the past they have given extensions due to tech issues. It sounds like there was a tech issue yesterday.

DD has more than 20 ungraded assignments over three classes and I suspect it's not the teachers who haven't graded them but something else going on.

I told her I wondered if that was just an issue with the syncing or updating because it's difficult for me to think that many teachers would be grading up until 3. I know for English teachers and other teachers who have a lot of written assignments it's really hard but some of these assignments were multiple choice ones that are not showing up as graded.

I’m little stressed too as the English teacher didn’t regrade some assignments as it should. So now the grades look horrible. Not sure what to do if the teacher just forgets to regrade the assignments ?

It’s crazy how late the teachers grade this stuff 🙄.

I have a lot of empathy for the teachers. They are not given a lot of time during the work week, are forced to teach many sections that are overcrowded with students and then deal with a ton of late assignments that the nice ones accept. My cousin is a teacher and she works so hard.

I don't know why school districts can't build more planning and grading time into their schedules.

I appreciate this so much! Thank you for seeing our situation as it really is. I know teacher workloads are discussed a lot on DCUM, and often not kindly. The truth is many of us are drowning, using our nights and weekends just to keep our heads above water. Constant absences and regrades only compound an already huge problem.

Thank you for seeing this. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your comment!

It’s crazy how late kids turn stuff in and expect it to “magically” show up within minutes in Synergy. HS teachers have +120 students. If everybody turned in 2 or 3 late assignments or resubmissions that’s like 300 assignments to grade.

-Signed, a teacher who is tired of kids thinking we work weekends or nights to grade late work.

Exactly. What’s the saying? Your lack of planning is not my emergency?

Maybe if students came to class and turned in work when it was due there would be less stress for everyone.

At my high school, they told us we had to post final grades by 12 pm today. Not sure if other schools are using a later deadline

The last two days of the quarter are horrible. Kids hounding you constantly to accept late assignments and begging for undeserved grade changes.

What are the “Y”s in the grade book for some assignments?

I'm a parent, and I completely agree with the teacher here. I am shocked at how much teachers have to do and how little time they are given!

Add MCAP testing on top of that! Insanity the last two days.

Does anyone know if the technical glitches could have resulted in weird grades? My son suddenly has a few really wonky grades entered. Although it's honestly quite possible it's his teacher too .

Also, any word if the grading period was extended? I haven't seen any changes since yesterday so I guess not?

Grading period was not extended. And there should not be any wonky grades. Technical glitches did not cause any grade changes
