Were you emotional

No. Get a grip on reality, OP.

I think the TV crying is sort of like Jim Cantore leaning sideways in a hurricane — an act. Normal people walk straight up, but it’s still a very very cool experience.

+1, one of the Weather Channel broadcasters was so obviously fake crying

Same here!

I wasn't overly emotional, but it was easily the best part of my day.

This is my favorite eclipse story.

Only in the DC area would people think to comment with disdain about, or actively seek out with ill intent, other people enjoying themselves. Enjoy something or don't, OP, no one cares what you are doing.

100000% the most miserable people on the planet.

Once upon a time there was a light in my life, now there's only love in the dark. There's nothing I can say.

I surprised myself and teared up while which the totality. Wasn’t expecting it and not bawling, but it was absolutely an emotional experience.

I wish I could see this clip! I still have the fake clip of the weather channel newscaster leaning sideways saved on my old tivo.

Or act like a five year old. Good luck with that.

Depends what you label "emotion" - seems lacking in this area, no? The total eclipse was very different in other areas of the country than it was in DC and its vicinity.

I don't know why anyone would be very emotional about what you could see here, completely outside of the path of totality??? There isn't anything super special about what you could see from DC in 2024 or in 2017. It's cool to see an eclipse with the special glasses, but not at all on par with the wonder of experiencing a total eclipse in the Path.

You and the person who exponentially agreed with you actually sound like the miserable ones. Why do you have to respond so nastily? I simply was wondering what other people experienced - and next time if it's worth it to road trip to get a fuller experience. You guys really have such a defensive attitude and chip on your shoulder. Lighten up!

Well yeah, that is the point - to get outside of your bubble. Novel idea, I know.
