Race is not on the documents |
Race can be easily identified from the student's name for some races. |
Yes, it is. |
Asians don’t count |
If you can’t afford WISC testing are you out of luck? |
It’s feee if you qualify for free lunch |

They took race off the document this year. |
Yes, WISC helps in that it’s additional objective test data to support the case that your kid is gifted. In my opinion, work samples are not particularly informative because any parent can coach (and assist) any kid with creating said samples. It’s the junior version of the current trend of parents creating nonprofits to shore up their kids’ college applications. Test scores can also be the result of significant coaching as well but a parents can’t actually take the test for their kid. |
Wisc actually didn't matter and the school grumbled about paying for testing was inequitable |
Did your kid not do well on the WISC? That’s the only case that I can see that it didn’t help an appeal. |
Race is on the student record. Unless race is specified, the student registration is not accepted to begin with. If your child is already an FCPS student, your student's race is known. |
Whether school grumbles or not, if you dont have money for Wisc, I want to know what are you using your money for? I am a single parent who works as a front desk assistant, and even I can afford to pay for WISC. |
Not on the file they sent home to us. |
How much does it cost? |
