| A similar thread was just started YESTERDAY. Duplicate thread topics seem to be happening with great frequency lately. |
Ours isn’t updated at all for 2024. |
This |
Depends on your high school. Ours also has no 2024 data. |
|
I guess, but it seems to be more correlation. I say this because my kid got into everything early including ultra reach. Naviance looked good for all, but it's data was way old (like 10+ years). No way she had as much of a statistical chance at that ultra reach as Naviance suggested.
Also, data is so limited with only GPA and test. CollegeVine was better, but there is no great "predictor!" |
| No, not accurate for our white, unhooked kid. Don’t expect anything rational and you’ll be prepared for next year. |
| Was pretty accurate. But I liked CollegeVine more… it had chancing information for smaller schools that had no scattergram in Naviance. |
I'm not the OP of this thread, but I think the issue is that threads (even those that were started recently) can easily get buried a couple pages back so it is easy for someone to miss it if they only scan the first page (which is what a lot of people do). |
All you have to say is unhooked. Not sure why you mention being white. Most admits are white, and we're post SC decision. |
| We only had 2023 data, but ours was 100% accurate. My kid only got rejected from the schools where her stats were in a sea of red x's. |
|
WL for a school without a lot of data;
WL for 2 green schools (too many applicants from our school) In at several schools right on the line - considered more of a reach (surprisingly) Rejected at all other reaches /red (unsurprisingly) Private high school. |
| What about those that did not include test scores? GPA high but test score just ok. |
|
“ All you have to say is unhooked. Not sure why you mention being white. Most admits are white, and we're post SC decision.”
If you think is no longer being considered then you are a fool. Most top 100 schools have essays directly asking about diversity. |
| They can’t have 2024 data because 2024 isn’t over. Seniors fill out the data in their May senior surveys. Our high school college center teacher said that she updates/chooses the data year so your school is responsible for that. It should say what year(s) on the scattergram |
My DD applied test optional. Naviance not very helpful for this scenario, College Vine much more so, will advise whether to apply with or without scores for a given school. Naviance recently added a check box for the scattergram to see only test optional results, but it wasn't pulling up any results from our school even at the large popular public universities. Needs more time to get enough data I guess. |
