OP - the question you need to ask is whether you want a puppy! You will have to walk, feed, bathe and pay the bills for it.

OP, it's been said before, but it's worth repeating: EXPENSIVE! Every time you set foot in the vet's office, it's $100, and that's before the vet does anything. Shots cost extra. Tests cost extra. Medicine costs extra. And god forbid there's a real problem. Ours got in a fight with another dog, and the final bill was $1700. You will NEED to see the vet at least twice in the first year-- shots, and spay/neuter. Plus, the dog WILL eat something that will make it sick. It just will. And that will be another vet visit.

Seriously, nothing about a dog is cheap.

Thanks for your apology, but I still think you are an A**. I am going to picket in front of Today's Pet one of these days.

Partnership for Animal Welfare is a great rescue organization based in Greenbelt.

I recommend getting a medium-sized dog around one year old. Once they are a year old, they have decent bladder control and you don't have to take them out every hour or so. Housebreaking is pretty easy. A medium-sized dog is easy to handle and you don't have as much of the small dog aggression issues you might get with various smaller dogs.
