| If you want an easy fix, go buy a pumice stone. This has totally changed my life (lol) in terms of having smooth legs. I have also stopped using shaving cream. I lather my legs with body wash and rub the pumice stone up and down (this is mildly uncomfortable) and then I shave after using all the lather as a shaving cream. I use the venus razor but I'm not sure that it matters. My legs are SO MUCH SMOOTHER now that I use the pumice stone! |

I have a couple of questions about this.. To all of you who talked about laser removal, do you mind if I ask where you did it and how much it cost you?
And what is an epilator? How do you use it, is it expensive, and does it hurt? I also have really dark hair and white white legs... |
I'm the epilator poster so I respond to that part. An epilator is a handheld device about the size of an electric razor. It pulls the hair out by the root (some have coils that spin and grab hair others have a rolling thing with tiny pincers). You just run it around on your leg and it will pull the hair out. They run from about $35 to $90, depending on the bells and whistles you get. I got this one: www.amazon.com/Braun-SE7280-Silk-Epil-Xpressive-Epilator/dp/B0016GTOFY/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=hpc&qid=1281362349&sr=8-3 It has a lot of attachments, which I thought would be helpful but I have not ever used. So I recommend a lower priced model. Yes, it hurts a lot at first. Someone else on this thread recommended waxing first so that there is less hair when you start with the epilator, which I think is a very good idea. The more you use the epilator, the less it hurts. It doesn't bother me at all now but it is painful at the beginning and your skin also may be irritated. Someone else also recommended loofahing and I'll add that that is very important. I use a real loofah, not one of those poof things, and put some elbow grease into it. |
