Who believes that… think about Wootton renovation which is delayed for a decade and still more delays |
Apples and oranges |
| Direct your advocacy to Elrich and the county council. They control the money. |
| When magruder had the band room’s asbestos removed we would have band practice in the auditorium . Can’t imagine any other place besides the gym it could have happened in. |
| There has been talk of a performing arts magnet at Woodward. How will that happen without an auditorium? |
| Crown and Woodward will get auditoriums. Kindly suggest redirecting your concern to emails to BOE, individually. |
Which means students will go to high school without an auditorium. Future construction is meaningless to current students. |
| They could always borrow auditoriums from nearby high schools. It stinks for the kids who would use it but it’s not the end of the world. |
The plan all along for the Northwood students has been to be at the Woodward holding school with no auditorium. That's been known to be the case for years now, and somehow people could accept that. |
There will be an auditorium, just not as soon as people want. There *may* be a performing arts magnet. |
+1. They said at the meeting they could also make arrangements to use private auditoriums or other large spaces in the area. And yes that will be an inconvenience but it will be a short term workaround. |
| What sucks about delaying it at Woodward is that means Northwood (who will use it as a holding school for 3 years) won't have an auditorium and they have a magnet performing arts program. I feel bad for those students. |
An academy, not a magnet |
Exactly, or even more. |

We need to accept that Montgomery County has had a huge influx in population. Developers are building more and more housing units, there is a push to urbanize a large part of the County and the county will just get more and more overcrowded as the years go by.
There is no end in sight. This is just one side effect of the rampant, uncontrolled growth in MoCo. Developers are profiting and our kids are losing out. |
