The added a third sectionals section this year in the eastern zone.

NCAP swimmers who aren't at NCSAs are going to a different meet in Richmond. Tired of the terrible air quality at the pool in Christiansburg

I know a lot of families that could not do meets this weekend because they were traveling for Spring Break. Some changed flights to Europe so that they could make meets, but I imagine some families did not.

For those that say that it is slower (Sectionals) aren't the cuts the same? Are you eyeballing it or do you have some way of really comparing?

I was looking at 24th seed (finals spot). For many many races this swimmer didn't have the cut but was swimming it as a bonus event. This wasn't typical other years.

Not so. For years, sectionals grants bonus events, except - I think - for distance. For that, you need at least o e distance cut to swim the other distance event (1000/800 or 1650/1500).

It's not the bonus events themselves that are atypical, but that swimmers doing an event as a bonus are seeded to head to finals. Though they did add extra bonus events this year.

At PVS Senior Champs, you needed the Sectionals cut for girls to make finals (4:38). At actual Sectionals this morning, 4:48.89 made finals.

Lots of meets are like this. Some years your kid would make finals at a meet and other years your kid is (much) further down.
