I’ve travel to DC regularly and meet with Senators, Congressmen, staffers, various departments, etc. It’s certainly not the best and brightest. Many are just dumb. Others are intelligent but can’t comprehend basic common sense. Others speak very eloquently but are too incompetent to run a lemonade stand. It’s very disheartening. They can’t run their basic job efficiently, so I’m not surprised they can’t succeed in their personal household. I’ve met very few that work in the federal government that are capable people (certainly less than 1%).

You do realize that those elected to congress come from the rest of the U.S., not DC, right? Even the staffers--those are often campaign workers/people from the home district. Don't blame the city for the people sent here to govern the whole country. We didn't choose them. We don't even have representation in Congress.

Seriously- I think some self analysis would be helpful

I challenge anyone to find a state level analysis where DC *isn't* an outlier. State level analyses are of dubious value in many cases but certainly for this particular question using states doesn't make any sense to me and for sure comparing DC to most other states is useless.

Yep. And the states have sent their dumbest, most incompetent, most crooked to DC. Then you have all the incompetent government employees.

90% of DC people in successful marriages move out to the suburbs within 5-8 years. This is irrespective of race. So by definition, there are very, very few people in DC who have been married more than 10 years.
