Algebra 1 31 31 52 43
Algebra 2 TS 19 36 43
Geometry 43 35 63 39

43 Fs in both 1&2 Algebra for last school year?
Geometry looks bad too
I wonder how many kids were enrolled in each subject and how many kids failed per teacher name. Could I get a FOIA request for that?

I don’t see Pre-Calculus or Calculus subjects.

Drivers ED , so many Fs

Which school is this

Drivers ED still have an attendance policy I beleive they still need hours required by the state, and maybe some kids just don't care for that class, is non credit and it don't do anything to the GPA..
The others we need to look at how many kids took that course.

Is the information available for Woodson High School?

FOIA cost? Can you provide template for how to request for a high school?

Why are people wanting to see this? Beyond knowing 6 failed out of 600 in a class, what is conclusion being made from info? Is it that no kid should be failing or that doing better than expected if only 6 out of 600 fail? Or parents wanting to know how many As since most schools don’t do class rank anymore?

This is the template I use.

"To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

Final grades distribution listed by course for the following school ****** High School for the ****-**** School year.

In the event that there are fees, VA Code § 2.2-3704 (F) I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or Drop Box if not".

They should be free, but you can request for them to send you a quote before hand.

Why not? It's taxpayers' school. Taxpayers deserve full transparency; nothing should be kept hidden. If transparency were being properly practiced, such requests wouldn't even be necessary.

Does one have to be a parent at that school to request this info? or can any FCPS citizen request it?

I don't recall our parents ever wanting this information. Focus on your kid. You already know how well a school is doing by searching online.

Pre-Calculus or Calculus are not listed because they are TS. less than 10 students failed that course, you might be able to get per teacher but mostly will get TS , since about over 300 students take Geometry and Algebra 2.

What is TS? Transsexual?

28% of grades were A's
12% A-'S
30% B's
16% C's
6% D's
3% Fs

That's 95%. What about the other 5%

Quit telling other parents what they need to do. I'm sure there are different reasons anyway. We are at an SBG school that is copying a model developed for students in danger of not graduating in FCPS (principal's own words). The salesmen that go around helping schools implement this grading system tout research that has nothing to do with kids learning more but has everything to do with Bs and Cs for everyone. As go down in certain races and Ds and Fs go up in certain races.

Given that my kids have teachers saying things like "a B or C is where they should be" at this school, I would like to know what is going on.

Ah so you are one of the grumpy Madison parents…
