This is all you need to know about SCAD [/quote

It’s a puff piece. I know actual graduates who cannot find work in their fields and are saddled with student loans. Because the academics are weak it is near impossible to get a regular job

SCAD has a lot of international students from South America. We met a lot of SCAD students when we visited Savannah. Everyone seemed to like their studies.

I know a designer in Miami who graduated from SCAD. She liked her time there.

For gaming design I'd look into Full Sail. One of my DH's employees went from working full time at the battery store for $15 an hour to graduating from Full Sail and getting at least 4 job offers with his Gaming Design degree from Full Sail. He accepted the Microsoft job and getting 6 figures plus in salary (from his $15 per hour at the battery store.)

Many of his fellow gaming design students dropped out from Full Sail before graduating.

My DD’s best friend is there, loves it. She is the kind of kid you’d find at art schools everywhere - super duper free spirit, purple hair etc. she’s working hard and taking her art education seriously. She seems to plan on a freelance work life after graduating which I expect will be harder to manage than she thinks but i don’t know that world well so hope I’m wrong!

SCAD does not have a great rep.

If you are spending that much for art school name matters, think Pratt, Parsons, RISD.

SCAD's graduation rate is only 69% That, alone, would make me really wonder . . .

Unless you are wealthy, sending a kid to art school is just foolish. They will end up waitressing after 4 years of indoctrination into idiocy. I say this as a grad of one of the most prestigious art schools. It is a game best played by trustafarians.
