What a stupid comment. First it presumes that the OP only wants the kid in SJC for college. Second you have no idea what school district the kid is even in, even in DC. Just a stupid comment all around. |
So nice of you to chime in with that on a post where OP and her kid are bummed about being rejected. You’re a real peach! |
+ 1 Very sorry and I know it feels crummy. But hopefully they will have other great options and will have a great four years of HS. (Also - this might be good practice for the crazy college admissions process....no need to tell your DC that yet though!) |
1300 applications? What is the estimated acceptance rate? This is far more competitive than I expected. |
got it, thanks for answering |
| I’m sorry. It’s much harder this year with Gonzaga in a war zone. |
Remember that iat of these boys are also applying to Gonzaga and /or Prep and O’Connell or good counsel. |
Seriously. Read the room, lady. |
You’re obsessed with something that’s not true |
No. It's reality and a factor that I wish I had considered. College outcomes are not everything but you are literally taking a step down in options by going to SJC over JR (or Sidwell, NCS, etc for that matter). I know it doesn't make a rejection feel any better when it's your kid who really wants to attend a school but it will likely work out better for him in the long-run. |
You continue to troll thread after thread to parrot this narrative. It is obnoxious and in this case heartless. |
| I second, that there is big movement on the waitlist. People apply to several schools. Not everyone is their 1st choice. Take a deep breath and just see what happens. |
I just watched a video posted on next door with the fighting at JR that required police intervention. So you may have better outcomes (which I doubt), but that is not an environment that I want my kid in daily. |
So you actually realize your comments are not helping this child at this time yet you choose to post and re-post. Go away. |
Plenty of kids do just fine at JR and plenty of kids do just fine at SJC. There is no need to get down in the mud with the PP. She likes it and you just feel dirty. |
