“As an integral part of the Expanding Student Access to Period Products Act (DC Law 24-92), local education agencies (LEAs), private schools and higher education institutions in the District shall install and maintain dispensers with free-for-use menstrual products in women's and gender-neutral restrooms. If a school building does not have a gender-neutral restroom, then the menstrual products shall also be available in at least one men's restroom.“

Doubt this is actually happening.

Me too but my Mom would let me stay home. Thankfully.

A .gov website with icons of bloody underwear, tampons, and drops of blood instead of bullet points... now I have seen it all.

That's great! Wish more schools did this

The teachers probably buy it.

Not really sure of the question but available all over the place. Most girls have supplies. Bathrooms can have free ones if they haven't been taken. They as their friend and if all that doesn't work the nurse and front desk have them. Three girls in charter then middle then private and no problems.

MAGA would have a field day with this. We're not supposed to talk about women's bodies, they belong to the men!!

I’d stay home too.

All DCPS secondary schools have pads and tampons readily available and in very accessible areas ie classrooms, libraries etc. it's very normalized and normalizing for people to know that periods happen. Not so sure about elementary schools...

Teachers definitely are the ones to buy them, or they have them on their Amazon wishlists that are sometimes sent around. I bought a fifth grade teacher at my daughter's (Title I) school $100 worth the Always this year (as well as multi packs of travel size deodorants, toothpaste, and toothbrushes).
