Really depressed. I have nothing to look forward to.

Are you local, OP? If so, I can share ideas of fun stuff to do that will hell you feel “transported”. In the meantime, I get it. Winter is ROUGH!

Please share for those of us who are!

OP, sunlight, exercise and upbeat music might help. For me without a green thumb, trying to take care of plants unsuccessfully can be depressing in itself. Local exploration can feel a bit like traveling.

The business should furlough people rather than limit vacation. The proof is in the op. Employees that are despondent are not maximizing their work efficiency. Management fail.

Start the garden, OP. Don't think about it, just do it. Also, take a road trip, even if just for the day.

You base your happiness on the next big getaway?

Maybe you need to learn to be happy where you are.

I've had that feeling, OP.

I bought a birdfeeder and this clear-backed birdhouse to place in my sunroom window, close to a tree where birds have previously built nests. Hoping to see it used this spring!!!

Not OP but yes, my greatest joy in life is planning my vacations. I am very content with where I am, but I love to go somewhere else, too. I feel very antsy if I don’t have something on the horizon.

Okay, I am not knocking your depression, but in the grand scheme of things, not going on a vacation sounds kind of like first world problems. Perhaps, something else is going on? Like not enough sunlight or vitamins?

So sorry to hear you are feeling this way OP.

Hugs 🫂 to you!

Have you thought that maybe your depression may be caused by it getting dark earlier?
For some - the change of seasons can really seriously affect their moods.

Could you possibly be in perimenopause?
Many women find depression to be a huge factor during this stage in their lives……even if they have never suffered from it prior.

If these feelings continue for you > I would advise you to discuss these feelings w/your PCP & see what he/she has to say on dealing w/these issues.

I wish you only the best!
