I did it. I think it’s fine. |
I wish there was more info available on what exactly is passed to the fetus after implantation but before formation of the placenta. I think it’s absurd that it’s 2024 and there’s still ambiguity around this. The fetus implants days before the day of your missed period. You could still be technically pregnant for a week or more before you miss your period and test, if that helps. But I have no clue if Botox would be passed to an implanted embryo during this phase. |
It’s category C, so no, you shouldn’t do it unless your well being depends on it. (Your well being does not depend on having a smooth forehead in case you’re wondering.)
However, it’s safe after delivery. |
I’d ask your ob. I don’t think Botox is systemic as it only affects the local area, but very rarely there are complications and that’s where I’d be concerned more generally. From what I remember, stuff doesn’t pass through to the placenta till about 10 weeks though. |
It's fine and you'll want pics |
Botox stays where it is placed. That’s the whole point.
My OB said she has patients who get debilitating migraines who got Botox through their pregnancies, as it’s something that helps them. |
There are lots of things that you could do in early pregnancy that MIGHT not hurt the fetus, but why take an unnecessary risk? |
